Large ultra fine authentic Afghan mixed weave Moshwani rug. These fine Afghan Rugs are traditionally made by Moshwani weavers who are a sub-tribe of the Baluchi tribal group who would migrate through the regions of West Afghanistan. A newly made, original rug from Afghanistan which measures approximately 202x272cm (6.7½ x 8.11ft). Nomadic Rugs such as these have multiple weaving techniques/textures in that the background is made with hand-woven weft wrapping soumak kilim weave and other areas are made from a hand knotted wool pile in geometric designs. 100% wool on wool.
