Afghan Shirvan rug of high quality made by Afghan Hazara Weavers. This fine Afghan carpet measures approximately 149x199cm (4.10½ x 6.6ft) excluding any fringes. The patterns in this rug features a star Caucasian Kazak design, originating from the eastern Caucasus. This rug has stunning natural dyes and is made with a wool pile and wool warps, it's really breathtaking and is lovely and soft to the touch, almost like silk! These carpets are newly made and only a limited number are being produced, they are hand-knotted using tightly spun wool. Afghan Shirvan rugs have a short pile with a beautiful sheen, almost like silk which is due to the superior hand spun wool used together with the gentle washing process of the rug after it has been woven.
