A traditional flat woven Turkish wool Kilim Rug that has been handmade in a village near the town of Esme, in Turkey's Western Usak Province. Woven in the flat slit-weave technique, this unique Kelim rug is an authentic vintage piece and it measures approx 91x135cm (3 x 4.5ft) excluding any fringes - this wonderful rug has a prayer niche design together with a tree of life pattern, we love the soft muted colours in this flatweave kilim - Note the measurements do not include those gorgeous long tassels. The Usak region of Turkey has been famous for many years for its flat woven rugs and its folk art kilim weaving traditions and they still make new rugs in this region. Kilim Rugs from Esme normally have geometric or striped patterns using hand-spun wool and are renowned for their Mihrab, geometric designs and beautiful colours.
