Authentic and Unique Turkish Kilim (Kelim) Rug from Fethiye the Mediterranean region of southern Turkey. Flat woven using flat slit-weave technique; generally good quality wool is used in these Kilims - this piece has an interesting central diamond pattern in vibrant blues, ochres and reds with a cream border. This is an original semi-antique piece c.1960s; the perfect colours for putting on a wood floor. This Vintage Kilim Rug from Turkey measures approximately 80cm wide by 168cm long - wool on wool.
Fethiye is in the southern part of Turkey where the Yoruk nomads would migrate between summer and winter pastures. It is also now a popular tourist resort and is famous for its ancient Lycian ruins.
