Handknotted Oriental Persian Sarab Carpet - Sarab is on the migration route of the Shasavan tribe - the town of Sarab is surrounded by mountains and is situated in the north west of Persia.  These hand-knotted weavings are some of the best around and have beautiful designs - using a wool pile and cotton weft/warps - a truly authentic and traditional weaving technique.  These authentic Oriental Persian Carpets generally have geometric designs with medallions and motifs making them very sought after. This Large Sarabi Carpet measures approximately 200x312cm (6.6½ x 10.2½ft) - we love the tight fine weave and strong rigidity of the rug together with its fine and complex pattern. This piece is slightly wonky which can often be the case in these handmade Sarab Carpets.
