Unusual vintage Turkish Kilim from Afyon - hand-woven in wool in the cicim weft wrapping flat-weave technique. This original wool Kilim measures approximately 84x180cm (2.9 x 5.10½ft) excluding any fringes - we love the rare long size and intricate way the design has been created with cicim weave, the colours work really well against the background, the blues are very prettty in this one of a kind flatweave rug. These flat woven rugs are made by the Turkmen Yoruk tribes - the descendants of the Turkic tribes that settled in Central Anatolia hundreds of years ago, in the mountainous countryside inland from the Aegean coast.
