Handmade in wool this traditional wool Afghan rug measures approximately 108x201cm (3.6½ x 6.7ft) excluding any tassels - we love the soft feel and slight sheen of the wool together with the warm browns and terracotta colours. These nomadic tribal rugs are also known as Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi, Belouchi.  Baluch rugs come in many types however they often have richer colours such as reds and terracottas, blues, blacks and occasionally greens and other colours.  Usually, these rugs are small to medium in size as they would be woven on simple wooden portable ground looms, they are not often very wide.  The designs are geometric but sometimes the prayer niche (Mihrab) or tree of life design can be found.  For information on our Underlays for Rugs look here.
