Persian Oriental Vintage Baluch Rug - Very Unusual Prayer Design! These Baluchi Rugs are woven in the villages in the eastern Baluchistan region (Mashad) of North East Persia bordering West Afghanistan. These rugs are also known by the names; Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi, Belouchi & Balooch. Traditional hand-knotted rugs with geometric motifs occasionally having fine detailed kilim ends - generally these rugs tend to be hand-woven in small and medium sizes only, with the rare exception of bigger pieces. See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

Normally wool pile on wool warps and wefts or wool pile with cotton inner wefts - using good quality wool, these classic traditional rugs are finely woven and as a general rule have a combination of rich reds, burgundies, terracottas, creams, chocolates or burnt orange colour ways.
