12880 Vintage Turkish Sarkoy Gocmen Kilim Rug 144x206cm (4.8½ x 6.9ft)

Finely woven vintage Sarkoy flatweave Kilim Rug from the Balkans (Eastern Europe). Sarkoy rugs, also referred to as Gocmen or Thracian kilims and they originate from the European Turkish region, commonly known as the Balkans or Western Turkey.  Flat woven in the traditional way using an exceptionally fine slit weave Kilim technique. This kelim measures approximately 144x206cm (4.8½ x 6.9ft) excluding any fringes - this is a top quality example of these rugs, finer than most and with stunning, interesting colours together with motifs and symbols featured in the design. Finding a piece like this requires a great deal of searching on our part!
