Glorious, colourful vintage Turkish Sivas kilim rug - an authentic and unique flat weave using Kilim slit-weave technique. Generally good quality wool is used in these Kilims. This Kilim (Kelim) from Turkey measures approximately 124x219cm (4.1 x 7.2ft) excluding any fringes - we love the stunning colours, they are really something to behold together with the bold, large central lozenge pattern.  This decorative kilim has so much character, a real village weave with long original fringes too. Although this rug is woven in 90% wool the bright colours in some elements of the motifs are woven in bright coloured cotton which stand out beautifully and give the rug a lot of zing! Sivas (Central Anatolia) is a place of great historical importance on the silk route where a mix of people, Kurdish, Turkish and Armenian have lived for centuries.
