11761 Turkish Vintage Kars Rug 82x121cm (2.8 x 3.11½ft)

A vintage hand-knotted Turkish Wool Rug from the Kars region of Eastern Anatolia which is handwoven in 100% wool on wool. This one of a kind, traditional rug from Turkey measures approximately 82x121cm (2.8 x 3.11½ft) excluding any tassels - a really unusual little rug!  This piece has the classic colours found in rugs from this region, with the browns and beige colours and hints of purple, we love the stylised flower border in this sweet little carpet. See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

Rugs from Kars are often recognised by their warm browns, soft pinks and greys, beige, orange and terracotta colour ways and are generally very village looking in that they are not straight or uniform thus giving lots of character and appeal. As these pretty rugs are small they can be used in many places around the home; by the fire, in doorways, small rooms or something luxurious to step out of bed onto!  All of our Small Turkish rugs are Village made and have lovely soft wool pile and beautiful colour combinations.
