These small elegant and decorative handmade Afghan Rugs are known as Ziegler, Zeigler, Chobi, Garous or as Sultanabad. Zeigler refers to the design rather than the people that weave these hand knotted rugs and carpets. These types of rugs are re-creations of antique Oriental designs and they use wools with attractive colours and tones. Their all over antique looking floral (mostly) designs are a contrast to geometric rug patterns. 100% hand-woven by Afghan people with hand spun wool pile - the wool used in these rugs is often good quality, although it can vary with chinese and indian reproductions. We only stock Afghan Ziegler's and they have gorgeous soft wool quality.
