Large Size Vintage Bulgarian Kotlenski Kilim (Kelim) Rug from Eastern Europe - Flat woven in the traditional way using slit weave Kilim technique in an unusual cloud band design. This authentic Bulgarian Kilim measures approximately 254x387cm (8.4 x 12.8½ft). This over size Kilim is woven with wool wefts and cotton warps with the most stunning warm colours and complex design. These Kilims have been woven for many years while the Balkans were under Turkish Ottoman Rule and were generally woven as gifts to family members to be hung on walls or used on the floor. Although this is an antique piece it is in excellent condition and only has one or two minor repairs which are virtually impossible to spot.
