Oversize semi antique Bulgarian Kotlenski Kilim rug from Eastern Europe - flat woven in the traditional way using slit weave Kilim (kelim) technique. This authentic Bulgarian Kilim measures approximately 294x318cm (9.7½ x 10.5ft) which is almost square - excluding any fringes. This kilim is really beautiful with its very unusual colours and plain field which surrounds the very detailed central medallion. The weaving is fine and intricate in this huge rug and as is commonly the case with older pieces like this, there are a few very minor repairs but they are virtually invisible to the untrained eye; this rug is in excellent condition and would make a fabulous large decorative statement piece.
