Early Spring Buying Trip in Turkey

We are away on a buying trip in Turkey hunting out new and interesting things for our shop, here is a taster of things to come plus a few extra images of interesting food and bits and bobs!

Having just arrived in Turkey for a buying trip we were immediately drawn to these traditional rag rug (chaput) runners, woven in many Turkish households, they have now started to come on to the market for sale. They are very fine and very different to the normal Indian rag rugs, and have great colours, time to start having a good dig in and start negotiations! We have various sizes arriving in the autumn

Love this Turkish Oya crochet, so colourful

Looking forward to this new line of Turkish cotton bedcovers/throws which are hand loomed in Denizli in South West Turkey

We are finding some really nice folk weavings from Moldovia on this Buying Trip featuring gorgeous roses, a garden under foot!

Love the architecture of the Turkish Bazaars

Amazing hot Turkish humous with pine nuts! Yum. We are at a restaurant cooking traditional food from Urfa

Finishing off our Turkish meal with ultra strong "MIRRA" coffee from south east Turkey. It's drunk in minute thimble portions in tiny ceramic cups. Won't be sleeping tonight!

This stunning old Obruk Kilim from the Konya region of Turkey is definitely going to have to come back to Yashar Bish with us! Love the colour combo, just couldn't leave it behind!

Great Russian fabric that we will get cushions made from

Ottoman Fabrics that we will get a selection of Floor Cushions and Standard Sizes as well as three sizes of round large bolsters

We will make this Kilim into draft excluders and bolster cushions - they will be ready for our autumn shipment

Wow found these amazing Uzbek silk velvet fabric lengths which we will make into very long bolster cushions, watch this space!

Some Uzbek Silk Velvet Purses

Turkish Malatya Rug an old piece with soft colours. This will be coming in the shipment!

That's it for now!!
