Out of the ordinary old Turkoman textile trapping that would have been used during a marriage ceremony as a camel decoration. Usually a mix of different embroidery styles and applique is used, together with oddments of old fabrics including beautiful old ex Soviet floral textiles - we love this vintage textile, it's so interesting and unique with its lucky diamond shaped amulets and tassels, the back is very attractive too! This piece measures approximately 34x40cm inc tassels and would make a fabulous little wall hanging. Normally one of these decorative textiles would be tied to each knee of a camel during a Turkoman wedding procession. Known as “duye dizlyk” (knee pad), they often normal feature triangle patterns which are lucky amulets to ward off bad intent.
