12848 Large Vintage Fine Afghan Ghalmouri Kilim Rug 261x401cm (8.6½ x 13.2ft)

This very very large sized Afghan Ghalmouri vintage Kilim is a beautiful and unique one-of-a-kind rug that has been hand-woven in central Afghanistan (kilims can also be referred to as kelims, gelim, gilim). This traditional flatwoven wool kilim rug measures approximately 261x401cm (8.6½ x 13.2ft) excluding any fringes - this is a real stand out, decorative rug with its amazing soft colours and huge size - its one of our favourite pieces. Typically, geometric designs are used and these flatweave Kilims usually come in a variety of earthy colours which can include blue, grey, burnt orange and terracotta, amber and creams and rich browns.  Ghalmouri Kilims are of a fine quality and although appear similar to other Afghan Kilims, Ghalmouri's have a superior wool quality and a finer weave.  Handwoven in 100% wool.
